Scotland Yard

New Scotland Yard is not, as is often supposed, merely a detective agency. It is the headquarters of London's Metropolitan Police Force and from it are directed all branches of the Force, including the uniformed police, the women police, the Criminal Investigation Department, the river police, traffic patrols, mounted police and the police dogs.
